Self Help Read

The first quarter of this year was all about self discovery

I had a plan. A solid one. But when things didn’t go as expected, I found myself back at the drawing board

only this time, I wasn’t even sure what to draw.

There was confusion. No clear direction. A lot of silence

In that moment, I did what I usually do when faced with a career dilemma

I picked up the phone and called Fisayo Fosudo. He always had the right words. Rachel too, always helps me put on my thinking cap.

But after every productive conversation, a decision still had to be made

Some small, some big. And because I didn’t want to make any, I stalled. Waiting for a magical “click” that never came.

That season of waiting felt like docility, but in it, I learned.

And I promised myself to share what I’ve learned with others who, like me, are navigating their 20s and wondering what on earth is going on.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

💡 This first advice is to Christian Believers and it goes as thus

Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Please practice this first, Please.

💡 Second Advice

The best thing you can do for yourself is to keep showing up. Don’t let the fear of the unknown steal any opportunity from you.

You’re tired of rejection? Still, show up.

Show up tired. Show up sad. You’re allowed to be, but don’t lose faith, don’t lose your lantern of hope.

💡 Third Advice

I have realized that there’s a never-ending cycle of problems that need to be solved, whether physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.

So whenever you are happy about something, please bask in that happiness, milk it dry, and unashamedly.

💡 Fourth Advice

Having a choice is a privilege. Make a choice no matter how hard, seek wise counsel and draw a conclusion. Don’t leave your life to chance, don’t ‘Que Sara Sara’

💡 Fifth Advice

Learn to treat people decently, not because you need anything from them.

I’m still in my learning phase

and maybe that phase never really ends.

So I’ll keep showing up, sharing, and being honest about the process.

Whether you just left university, quit your job, relocated, changed paths, or launched a business
