Moonshot 2025
A Day In My Life
I woke up on Thursday morning with the urge to attend the moonshot event I have been seeing everywhere. I had no idea what it was about, but let’s just say I was influenced seeing mutuals post and talk about it. I made a post on my twitter asking if they sold tickets at the gate then a kind young man Felix reached out to me saying he had an extra ticket, if I’d be interested. My response to that question created the best experience I have had all week. I went for the moonshot event with no expectations in mind, just to take a look at it and have a great time and that’s exactly what I did. I’d like to share some corporate knowledge with you before I spill the tea on the after party. So here are 5 things Things I Noticed at Moonshot, as a First-Time Attendee;
1. The event’s execution was outstanding, even though I only attended for a day.
You can say I’m easily impressed, but I don’t care. As someone who has attended and even planned quite a number of events, I must say, this was a well-put-together experience. Everything felt orderly, well-paced, and intentional. Even though it was packed, I didn’t see the usual chaos that comes with large events.
2. Everyone was clearly intentional about building meaningful connections.
You could actually see it in people’s eyes, that spark when they spoke to a mentor or potential partner. But I couldn’t help thinking about the future of all that networking: will something tangible come out of it? How can one truly stand out to a potential partner when everyone’s having similar conversations?
3. Though it was a tech-focused event, several sessions found common ground with the creative space.
As a creative, I didn’t feel out of place at all. Instead, I felt inspired to do better, to quit procrastinating, and to focus on showing results. I especially enjoyed the sessions with Laju Iren and Colette Otusheso, and I even got to meet them one-on-one for a quick chat!
4. Almost everyone had a side gig.
This part honestly cracked me up. I’d ask someone, “Don’t you work as…?” and they’d reply, “That’s just one of my jobs.” I was impressed that people could wear so many hats and still excel in all of them. I could relate, I’m a content creator, marketing rep, and licensed flight attendant myself.
5. Greatness doesn’t happen overnight.
Many of the exceptional individuals there have earned their place through blood and sweat. Listening to the speakers share their journeys with such passion and depth made it easy to understand why they’ve come so far. I left feeling motivated, by the next Moonshot, I hope to be a speaker too, dominating my own field.
As a first-time attendee, it was a remarkable experience, and I’m already looking forward to the next one. Kudos to TechCabal for an inspiring and well-executed event.
The After-Party (Mixer)
The after-party was lit! It was filled with people who genuinely knew how to have a good time. I know we’re used to seeing folks sitting around and scrolling on their phones, but DJ Xara made that nearly impossible, the energy was unreal.
The food and drinks kept flowing, and at some point, you’d almost have to remind yourself that you were still at a corporate event. I stayed out so late I almost didn’t plan to go home.
I’m still reliving every moment, it was that good.
Did attend this year?
Do you know anyone that did? Tag them
And will you be attending next year? Let me know in the comments.
I didn’t get the chance to attend this year, but reading your experience makes it clear how valuable Moonshot is for professionals and creatives alike. I’m definitely making plans for next year! Thank you for sharing, Abbie.
I genuinely feel the same way. Unlike classic volunteer roles that would be blood-sucking. This one was exceptionally different. I deeply resonate with when you said though it was crowdy, there was still space. I enjoyed it so much, I catch myself smiling at certain moments! Thank you for sharing and yes it was lovely meeting youuu!
